White Patterns In Legacy

Legacy has all major white patterns present in the game, including tobiano, splashed white, frame overo, sabino, dominant white and leopard complex spotting. Just like everything else about our horses, Legacy’s patterns are inherited. We based all the patterns off of the real-life known genetics and any that are testable in real life are also testable in game.

One of the most exciting aspects of Legacy’s white patterns is the ability to breed for specific variations of “loudness.” Some genes, like splashed white and sabino, are known to be incomplete dominant, and homozygous horses usually have more white than heterozygous horses. Tobiano, on the other hand, is complete dominant, but horses still vary in the amount of white they have because of other, currently unknown genes. We’ve simulated all of this in Legacy! Want to create a horse with a bold, eye-catching pattern? Or perhaps you prefer something more subtle and understated? With Legacy’s genetics you can breed for either.

On top of that, although they aren’t technically considered white patterns, we also have rabicano and roan in the game!
