We mentioned before that we eventually plan to add a few more disciplines to the game, and we’re excited to announce that we’ve added Marathon Driving in V2!

What is Marathon Driving?

In marathon driving, a single horse or a team of up to four are driven through an outdoor course designed to test their agility and stamina—similar to a cross-country course, but without the jumps. However, there are obstacles they have to navigate through! It’s a lesser-known sport, but it can be very exciting to watch. (We recommend searching for some videos online!)

How It Works In-Game

We’ve added a new section of training for marathon driving, along with new shows dedicated to the discipline. This sport will require good agility and intelligence, but also speed, stamina, and strength.

Unlike our other disciplines, two talents rather than one will affect this intense sport: both judgment (ability to navigate obstacles) and steady (ability to regulate energy use)!

Marathon driving is, as the name suggests, a driving discipline, so it will not require under-saddle training like most other disciplines. Instead, it will require basic driving training (which is also required for pulling and trot/pace racing now) before advancing to marathon driving-specific training. Because of this, miniature breeds will also be able to compete!

Individual and Combined Classes

We’ll have two types of marathon driving classes:

Individual: A single horse competes
Combined: You can pair up two horses!Choosing pairs won’t be as simple as just hitching up any two horses together, though—some personalities just don’t mix! You’ll want to be careful not to pair up two strong personalities, otherwise you’ll be more likely to have “bad days” when competing with that pair. For example, two very dominant horses (low submissiveness) don’t usually work well together, but a dominant horse will usually pair well with a submissive friend!
